According to royal biographer Christopher Andersen, Prince William is feeling neglected by his brother Prince Harry since the latter and his wife Meghan Markle have made a series of disparaging remarks about the Royal Family.
Prince William Feels ‘Abandoned’ By Prince Harry- Says Royal Author Christopher Andersen
Reports state that King Charles III tried to make peace with his second son, yet the author asserts that the divide between William and his sibling is now more intense than it has ever been.
In his comments, Andersen said: “The chasm between the brothers is deeper and wider than ever. Charles has offered the occasional olive branch to Harry on several occasions since Megxit. Not so William, who feels abandoned by the one person he felt closest to in the world.”
Harry and William had a close relationship that was created by their shared sorrow over the sudden passing of their mother, Princess Diana, when they were only children. Andrew Morton, the writer of the late Princess of Wales’ autobiography, asserted that Diana predicted her younger son would be a “wingman” for the future King.
In some comments at the time, Morton remarked: “[Diana] said on Panorama, and she said to me, on numerous occasions, that she saw Harry as a wingman for William, because his job is a lonely job, and you cannot trust many people around you.
“She saw Harry as being there to back up his brother, but that’s not how things turned out.” And yet, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been vocal about the challenges they have faced with the press and the Royal Family during some of their public appearances, particularly their two-hour-long conversation with Oprah Winfrey.
Moreover, their Netflix documentary made serious allegations against the Palace, including accusations that the office of the Prince of Wales had been disseminating negative information about them. It is fair to say that the two brothers are not on the best of terms.
