British Royal Family News says that Prince William is feeling quite upset about all of the allegations that have been made in a Tatler Magazine profile about his wife, Kate Middleton. That, and the Duke of Cambridge is also upset that British media outlets are making it look like he is obsessed with his mother-in-law Carole Middleton, who apparently has taken on a mother-like role with him. Here’s what you need to know.
Daily Mail columnist and royal expert Richard Kay believes that references to Prince William’s relationship with Kate Middleton has certainly hurt him behind closed doors. While Prince William has always felt rather comfortable with his in-laws, he’s not as ‘obsessed’ with them as some tabloid media outlets have suggested. What’s more, the future King of England is apparently also outraged over all of the comments that have been made about his wife’s appearance by the press.

Kay puts it this way, “A ‘country grandee’ is quoted as saying: ‘I’ve heard that Prince William is obsessed with Carole. She’s the mummy he always wanted.’ This, say friends, is absurd. And it is not the only reference to the Princess of Wales. The article also says: ‘Outwardly it seems that with years of scrutinizing public pressure Kate has become perilously thin, just like — some point out — Princess Diana.’ But the Princess suffered from an eating disorder that for a while was a central and damaging feature in her life. For Kate, this is perhaps the most uncomfortable barb of all.”
With that said, there have been many reports suggesting that Prince William and Kate Middleton actually do like to spend more time with Carole and Michael over at their Middleton Manor than with Prince Charles and the rest of the royal family in London. In fact, both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were criticized for skipping out on a royal Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham in order to spend the holiday with Kate’s family instead. Of course, this all happened before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became Britain’s newest tabloid targets.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments to the allegations that have been made.
