Prince William and Kate Middleton want the world to know that they’ve got everything worked out on their end, thank you very much. In fact, there’s a new report that suggests the Prince and Princess of Wales are very much aware of all the implications of having both a heir and a spare in their family and that’s why they are doing their best to make sure that their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – are raised in a normal environment as much as possible. Here’s what you need to know.
Royal commentator Katie Nicholl recently said that Prince William is making sure that there are no ‘spares’ in his family. She said, “George, Charlotte and Louis are enjoying a childhood Harry and William didn’t get to enjoy and I think that is why William and Kate are channeling everything they can into raising their children with an understanding of who they are as royals but as ordinary children too. No one wants the next generation to suffer as Harry has suffered…it’s not a pretty picture.”

She continued, “I think when you look to the Cambridges and how they are raising their children, away from the spotlight, in pretty ordinary schools, in a regular cottage on the grounds of Windsor, having bucket and spade holidays and teaching them to sail on the broads in Norfolk…”
Nicholl also added, “It does open up the question of the next spare, of Princess Charlotte. I’m sure William and Kate have got that all worked out. Reading Spare, if they do, I think at points it will be deeply uncomfortable for them.”
Last year, Nicholl in her book, “The New Royals,” that George told his classmates, “My dad will be king so you better watch out.”
However, one royal source says that this really isn’t anything new as Prince William and Kate Middleton have made quite the effort to prepare George for the royal life that he has ahead of him. “They are raising their children, particularly Prince George, with an awareness of who he is and the role he will inherit, but they are keen not to weigh them down with a sense of duty,” the author said.
