Rumour has it that Kate Middleton, The Princess of Wales, was reduced to tears when Prince William unexpectedly called off their New Year’s plans right before their wedding. This left Kate with anxieties about the potential longevity of their relationship.
Prince William Allegedly Made Kate Middleton Cry After He Called Off Their New Year’s Plans
According to a royal book written by Katie Nicholls in 2011, entitled The Making of a Royal Romance, the future King had initially intended to celebrate New Year’s Eve with Kate and her family, but eventually changed his mind and cancelled his plans altogether. On the day after Christmas, he notified Kate about his decision via telephone.
In her book, Katie wrote: “William had been having second thoughts and sat down with his father and his grandmother to have a frank discussion about his future with Kate. Both advised him not to hurry into anything.”
In 2001, William and Middleton crossed paths when they both attended the University of St Andrews. They were close friends before their relationship began to bloom during their second year of their studies.
Unfortunately, Kate’s apprehensions turned out to be true and the couple separated in 2007. According to reports, the late Queen Elizabeth II was not pleased with this news. However, the split didn’t last for long as they were seen kissing at a military event held in Bovington, Dorset.
After a brief period of separation, the couple made their engagement official in 2010 and got married the year after. They have now been together for about 12 years and are the proud parents of three kids – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The pair have clearly been through a lot which was also not helped by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from the firm in 2020. But through it all, they managed to come out of it on the other side. And that is the most important thing.
