Security personnel detained one of Prince Harry’s friends, Jack Mann, who was formerly in cavalry, due to the suspicion that he was employed as an armed fighter in the conflict-ridden Libya.
Prince Harry’s Friend Was Stopped From Boarding A Plane On Suspicion That He Could Have Been A Mercenary In Libya
The Maltese police questioned Mann about his statement that he was on an assignment to give medical instruction. The authorities from Malta “spoke to the passengers for clarification of the proposed activities in Libya” and no other steps were taken after that.
Reports from the area revealed that Mann was prevented from getting on a private plane heading for Libya prior to his departure. Since the Arab Spring of 2011 and the passing of Muammar Gaddafi that same year, Libya has been in the middle of a war.
British firms have been hindered from carrying out their business in the country due to the sanctions imposed. Thousands of lives have been lost as a result of the clashes between sides vying for control of the country.
Aside from that, Mann was featured in the Sussexes’ Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan, where there were unseen photographs of them at their wedding reception. He had become acquainted with the prince at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and was pictured with a group of well-off and privileged people who made up Harry’s close circle.
With that being said, the fans on social media began to troll Harry in light of the company that he had kept. And in the process of doing so, the comments towards him were very brutal indeed.
One person wrote: “Harry sure knows how to pick ’em,” while another person stated: “Ex cavalry officer on a mission to deliver medical training? Riiiiiight.”
Thankfully, nothing untoward had happened as who knows what could have happened on any other given day. And that is the most important thing to remember moving forward.
