According to royal expert Jack Royston, if Prince Harry attends the Coronation, he may encounter a significant level of hostility from a larger segment of the Royal Family.
Prince Harry Will Face ‘Animosity’ If He Attends The Coronation-Says Jack Royston
Since leaving his royal duties, the 38-year-old Duke of Sussex has limited his public appearances with his family, and has only attended the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the previous year, as well as the state funerals of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
And according to Royston, if Harry’s book Spare includes the claims he made, it could lead to Harry receiving a negative reception from not only the family members he criticized in the book, but also from others.
The Duke did criticize his brother, Prince William, by claiming that he assaulted him. Not only that, but Harry made it clear in no uncertain terms that his brother had shouted and screamed at him during a meeting about Megxit.
In his comments, Royston said: “It’s entirely possible that there is animosity towards Harry for Spare that extends beyond the kind of core of the royals who get mentioned in it, i.e. Charles, Camilla, William, Kate.”
In addition to this, the expert suggested that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who share a strong bond with Harry and Meghan, could offer their support to the couple if they decide to return.
He also added that the final public appearances of Harry and Meghan with the Royal Family were closely associated with the deceased Queen Elizabeth II, and attending those events was difficult for the pair.
To safeguard their public image, Royston proposed that the Duke and Duchess should carefully weigh the decision of returning to the UK for the Coronation.
He added: “The Platinum Jubilee was a tough call, but also it was kind of a no-brainer because you know it’s a once in a 70 years moment celebrating the Queen.
“Harry and Meghan have always said that they had no problem with the Queen, you know, the rift was with other family members.”
A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan verified that they were invited to attend a ceremony on May 6th, 2023. It is yet to be determined if they will attend, as they have not yet confirmed their attendance.
And yet, reports were published stating that Meghan and Prince Harry had put forward a set of requirements prior to arranging their return.
One of these requests was for them to appear on the balcony alongside the other members of the Royal Family.
With that being said, there are still some issues to fix. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
