Royal staff have refuted the idea proposed by Prince Harry in his Netflix docuseries that Queen Elizabeth II was persuaded by her aides to remove him from his role as an active royal.

Reports indicated that in 2020 Queen Elizabeth II had organised a gathering to decide upon the destiny of Harry and Meghan Markle as members of the Royal Family. And as part of that process, the Duke of Sussex recalled how his brother, Prince William, had screamed and shouted at him, much to his horror.
In addition, he insisted that his grandma just silently took in all the conversation while his father, King Charles III, said some things that were not accurate, and then proposed that she was influenced by the thoughts of others.
In his comments at the time, Harry said: “Her ultimate mission, goal, slash responsibility is the institution. People around her are telling her that proposal or these two doing x, y or z is going to be seen as an attack on the institution, then she’s going to go on the advice she’s been given.”
While that may have been the case, those within the know have denied anything of the sort. Despite concerns over her health during the latter parts of her life, the former monarch was still capable of making decisions.
This may explain why she did not abdicate during the latter parts of her life when it appeared that such a thing was gathering momentum. In response, sources remarked the following: “There was only one person making the decisions.
“To look the truth squarely in the eye, to realise your relationship has been damaged and to know it was his commander-in-chief who decided he couldn’t have the half-in, half-out role he wanted, is probably too painful for him to accept.”
