Prince Harry controversially claimed that he was prevented from seeing his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Harry Suggests He Was Prevented From Seeing His Grandmother-‘I Was Like, Wow’
According to the Duke of Sussex’s claims in his Netflix docuseries, the former monarch had backtracked on an offer for him to visit her prior to his and Meghan Markle’s decision to no longer be working royals. And as part of that process, Harry alleges he wanted to visit the UK to see her.
And by the looks of it, there were plans in place to make that happen. In his comments, Harry said: “She knew that we were finding things hard. I’d spoken to her many times about it. She told me she had no plans for the week.
“She said, “Well, why don’t you come up?” You can have tea, but why don’t you stay the night, you and Meghan?” Nevertheless, things would turn out very differently.
It turns out that as the couple were beginning to leave Vancouver, Canada, in order to make their way to the UK, they had received a message stating that the former monarch was no longer available to see them. This was very hard to take particularly since it had contravened what the former Queen had said.
Not only that, but on a personal level, it was simply a case of a grandson trying to see his grandmother. And that is something that did not sit well with Harry. His following comments confirmed as much: “Once we were back in the UK, I rang her and said, “I’m now told that you’re busy.
“She goes, “Yes, I didn’t know I was busy. I’ve been told that I’m busy. I’ve been told that I’m busy all week.” I was like, “Wow.” Now that the late Queen is no longer here, memories like this will play a bigger role. But it is something that cannot be taken back now.
