It has been alleged that Prince Harry’s actions were “unforgivable” for not addressing the allegations of racism in the Royal Family with Queen Elizabeth II before she passed away.
Prince Harry Should Have Addressed Racism Allegations When Queen Elizabeth II Was Alive
That is according to Paul Burrell. During a sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, Harry and Meghan Markle shared that comments were made prior to the birth of their son Archie about the potential darkness of his skin, causing a reaction to the possible racism within the Royal Family.
While that may have been the case, Harry has since then backtracked on that assertion. He went on to claim that he did not accuse the firm of racism, but rather, it was a case of unconscious bias. And given that this was not addressed prior to the late monarch’s death, Burrell has been left perplexed.
In his comments, he said: “So, Harry, why didn’t you clear up that mess? Why didn’t you settle your grandmother’s mind when she was worrying in her sitting room at Windsor Castle? To not sort out that mess before she died. It’s unforgivable.”
Much in the same way, Harry and Meghan’s explosive revelations against the firm happened after Queen Elizabeth II’s death. They had various ventures, such as the Archetypes podcast, the Netflix docuseries and of course Harry’s memoir, Spare.
The timing was slammed since it was immediately after the mourning period of the late monarch. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. A certain subset of people questioned the assertions since the couple did not name the person that had allegedly made those comments.
One person wrote: “Harry and Meghan have never provided one shred of evidence to support the accusations they have made. They are also proven liars.”
