Prince Harry says he has no regrets about his candid memoir Spare or the fallout that followed. Speaking during a recent trip to Kyiv, the Duke of Sussex dismissed the idea that he exposed the royal family’s “dirty laundry” and instead insisted he handled the sensitive material “in the best way possible.”
“My conscience is clear,” Harry said, doubling down on his belief that sharing his side of the story was necessary, not vindictive.

The remarks come shortly after a rare meeting with his father, King Charles, their first in more than a year. Harry, who stepped back from royal duties with Meghan Markle in 2020, has since balanced his new life in the U.S. with high-profile media projects, including the couple’s Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, and ongoing battles with the British press.
Currently, he is pursuing legal action against Associated Newspapers, accusing the publisher of unlawful information gathering alongside other public figures such as Sir Elton John. The company has denied all allegations, dismissing them as “preposterous smears.” Harry maintains his case is not about revenge but about “accountability.”
The Duke’s visit to Ukraine highlighted a different side of his work. Representing the Invictus Games Foundation, Harry laid a wreath in Kyiv’s Maidan Square and spoke with wounded veterans, emphasizing the importance of seeing disability not with “sympathy” but with “admiration and respect.” He admitted his involvement in Invictus gave him renewed purpose after leaving the military, even saying it “saved me.”
Reflecting on the relentless scrutiny he’s faced, Harry acknowledged the toll of years of negative press coverage but insisted he still feels love from much of the British public. He admitted the past four years have been “very stressful,” with revelations that left him deeply hurt. Still, he says his focus now is on his father and his family — and on ensuring his advocacy work continues to make an impact.
