That is according to Royal expert Tom Bower. It is no secret that Harry has not had a good relationship with Camilla by virtue of the fact that she was the person responsible for having an affair with his father Prince Charles, while he was married to Princess Diana.
Not only that, but they have been very distant ever since Harry and Meghan left the Royal family in 2020. And this sentiment was shown, especially since Harry and Meghan had decided to not send any customary congratulations about the news, which is often seen as a Royal custom.
In his comments written for Fabulous, Tom said: “Harry has always disliked Camilla and blamed her for wrecking his parents’ marriage.
“Perhaps the Sussexes’ deafening silence is Meghan’s way of declaring war. It is believed that she has never liked Camilla, and I am sure the feelings are reciprocated.”
If these comments are taken to be true, then it is very significant for the following reasons. First of all, it would demonstrate that the chances of a reconciliation between Harry and Charles are going to be even more difficult given that he has now two people that he is against.
Secondly, given that it has been a significant amount of time since Duchess Camilla had the actual affair, there is a feeling that if Harry was going to let things go, he would have already done it by now.
This is exactly how Tom saw it, as the pair could have swollen their pride and played the bigger person but refused to do so. His following comments confirmed as much: “Their insult was surely deliberate.
“[It is] hard to believe [Meghan would] serve silently as a team player devoted to the monarchy.”
In reality, by staying silent, the couple have managed to avoid any controversy that would have otherwise emerged by having comments being held against them. So what do you think about this? Should Harry and Meghan have commented?
