The event is set to take place on Thursday, 2nd June 2022 which would mark the monarch’s 70th year in charge. And as part of that process, it has been confirmed that the couple will be attending. And yet, their appearance will not be on full display due to the fact that they have been banned from appearing on the palace balcony.
Irrespective of that ,though, the bigger concern seems to be the fact that the couple could attend with a film crew. A source said: “While the family are delighted Harry and Meghan are coming, there is a real fear of tension, especially over any Netflix crew.
“There are concerns tension could explode if the Netflix team comes to the UK and tries to exploit their opportunities.” In reality, the prospects of this happening are possible for the following reasons.
First of all, the last major event that Harry and Meghan attended was the ‘Invictus Games.’ And during the course of that process, a Netflix crew was reportedly on hand in order to document every movement.
As such, the chances of this happening again have not been ruled out. Secondly, given that Netflix recently announced that Meghan’s cartoon series ‘Pearl’ had been cancelled, the pressure on the couple to produce some content for the network is bound to have increased.
With that being said, there are fears that they may try to get some unwanted footage. The source added: “Even if they accept that their Netflix crew can’t go into Buckingham Palace to film, they could cause problems – and at the very least cause a major distraction.
“Senior courtiers believe that Netflix will see it as one big opportunity to exploit their mega-millions agreement with the couple.” It is safe to say that Harry and Meghan’s appearance could throw up many curveballs. Time will tell what happens. So there you have it folks.
