Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent Valentine’s date at an Invictus Games event in Canada. The Sussexes are not bothered by the royal row over their new website.
While the Palace is fretting over determining what to do with Sussex.com, the couple are enjoying a little mini vacation in the frosty and wintery Whistler, British Columbia.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Met With Invictus Games Competitors
In frigid and blistering temperatures, they were meeting various competitors for the Invictus Games in 2025, which will take place in Vancouver Whistler.
It will be the first time that the Invictus Games will feature wintertime sports like Alpine and Nordic skiing, skeleton, and wheelchair curling.
It will also host a bevy of other sports, including inside rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair rugby, and basketball.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also felt the need to bring a camera crew with them because, like everything else in their life, they see Invictus Games as an opportunity for publicity.
Suppose the couple wants to have only positive publicity. In that case, they will focus solely on the Invictus Games and not use the event to score interviews, “secret charity visits,” and pictures and messages sprawled all over social media to promote the upcoming event.
The Sussexes tried their hand at skiing on Whistler’s Blackcomb Mountain with three factions of veterans: one Alpine sit ski, one standing ski, and one group of visually compromised athletes.
The Duke will use his Vancouver speech to discuss how Canada is their “special place.”
Harry and Meghan are no doubt reflecting on their times in Canada together. They even went house hunting in the country after they stepped down as working royals.
Harry and Meghan famously made their first official public presence as a couple at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto.
It’s a Far Cry From the First Invictus Games
The 2025 Invictus Games will surely be a far cry from the first Invictus Games in 2014, where the Duke anxiously made his inaugural speech with his beaming father, King Charles, adoringly watching his son as he enacts positive change in the world.
His brother, Prince William, equally proud of Harry, looked on. Gone are the days in which Harry’s family is excited to see what Harry will do next.
These days, Harry and Meghan are constantly under scrutiny from the public and the media. Their most recent controversy is their new website, Sussex.com.
They employ the royal titles they swore to Queen Elizabeth they wouldn’t use for commercial purposes or to promote their brand. They also use Meghan’s coat of arms.
Hopefully, they keep the attention on the Invictus Games over the next couple of days.
The Invictus Games is a multi-sport happening that involves wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women competing for the love of it.
Truthfully, the Invictus Games is an admirable and worthwhile endeavor. However, when it comes to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, their tactic tends to be harsh and aggressive.
Harry and Meghan need to spend time talking about the Invictus Games over the next three days and behave well without trying to make it about themselves.
