It looks like they haven’t regretted their decision at all. There’s a new report that suggests Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “proud” to have left the royal family in a move that has since been dubbed as “Megxit.” The couple pulled the plug on their working relationship with the royal family back in January of 2020 and have since then started a new life for themselves in California. Here’s what you need to know.
In the epilogue of their biography, “Finding Freedom,” written by journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the book suggests that Harry and Meghan have found their own freedom ever since they left life in the palace.

An excerpt from the book reads as: “As difficult as recent years have been, sources close to the Sussexes say that neither Harry nor Meghan have any regrets about the decisions they have made, another sign that [Meghan and Harry] had made the right decision to step back from royal roles, not only for their family but for their focus on social issues and helping the world.”
If that weren’t enough, the book also suggested that the royal family was “secretly pleased” Meghan Markle didn’t attend Prince Philip’s funeral back in April. It’s been said that Meghan Markle decided to skip out on Prince Philip’s funeral back in April because she was heavily pregnant with her and Prince Harry’s child Lilibet at the time. So instead Prince Harry made the trip on his own, much to the relief of the rest of the royal family, apparently.
The books says that the royals were happy that Meghan didn’t show up, as they “didn’t want a circus” or as one senior staff member put it, see Meghan “creating a spectacle.”
