Ahead of the coronation of King Charles III, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have put forth a number of exceptional requests.
Harry And Meghan Add More Demands Before Attending Coronation
According to The New York Post, the couple has asked for a place on the well-known balcony of Buckingham Palace and an official recognition of their two kids during the ceremony scheduled for May 6th, 2023.
The balcony is traditionally reserved for active members of the royal family, but the couple was not present there during the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebration in the previous year.
The couple has been invited to attend the coronation, but they have not yet confirmed their attendance.
It is rumored that they are waiting to respond until certain conditions or requests they have made are met.
A source confirmed the following: “The palace is trying to wrap up negotiations as quickly as possible because they can’t go right up to the wire.
“It could lead to chaos. However, what the Sussexes are pushing for is for them to be included with the rest of the family at the Palace later that day.”
Based on the information available, it is assumed that Archie and Lilibet, the children of the mentioned pair, will not be present at the ceremony as they are too young to attend.
On the other hand, as per the leaked rehearsal documents obtained by the Times of London, Prince Louis, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte, the children of Wales, are expected to play a significant part in the coronation of the King.
An anonymous insider informed The Sun that Prince Harry and his spouse are being considered in “all the preparations” despite not giving any confirmation, causing uncertainty until the last moment.
Another insider stated: “The cars, the seating plans, dining arrangements, everything. The staff are certainly working on the expectation they are coming.
“These kind of arrangements have to be made well in advance.” Despite this being the case, the social media response differed.
A certain subset of people made it clear that the demands being put by the Sussexes were unrealistic and only done for the sake of clout.
One person wrote: “It will look “rather petty” if they attend. Everyone knows that the only reason H+M would want to attend is because they are running out of Netflix /book content and need new content for their “Trash&Cash” business model.”
