United States President Joe Biden has faced massive backlash over his attempts to force private employers to require their workers to be vaccinated.
United States President Joe Biden Faces Backlash Over His Vaccine Mandate-‘This Is Absolutely Unconstitutional’
President Biden has decided to take action against the pandemic by trying to force all private companies who have 100 or more workers to get them vaccinated.
It was hoped that this would start at the beginning of next year. One of President Biden’s critics has been Democratic Governor of Kansas Laura Kelly.
Given that this would be an intrusion of the private rights of individuals, Laura was not convinced. In an official statement, she said: “Yesterday, I reviewed the new vaccine mandate from the Biden Administration.
“While I appreciate the intention to keep people safe, a goal I share, I don’t believe this directive is the correct, or the most effective, solution for Kansas.”
Much in the same way, Republican politician Thomas Massie was also against the idea. He took it a step further by comparing it to a major human rights violation. After all, America prides itself on individual liberty.
And yet, this action is contrary to anything with freedom. In a post on Twitter, he remarked: “This is absolutely unconstitutional.
“The expansive rules mandate that all employers with more than 100 workers require them to be vaccinated or test for the virus weekly, affecting about 80 million Americans.”
Despite President Biden’s wishes, the US judicial system did not see it the same way. An appeal court within the United States has blocked this attempt at imposing such a mandate.
Many religious groups were also angered as it took away their right to decide what they should put within their bodies. After all, they invoked their right to freedom of religion.
President Biden will attempt to take this a step further, but in doing so, there will be plenty of people in his way. Greg Abbott, who happens to be the Republican Governor of Texas, had this to say: “We will have our day in court to strike down Biden’s unconstitutional abuse of authority.”
