The comedian had initially left with suggestions that he could not deal with the negative consequences of social media, which were most typified by Kanye West’s verbal attacks against him. But according to some screenshots taken by a fan account, it looks as though he did make a return, as his video feed was visible.
On initial inspection, it would seem strange as to why the comedian would decide to make a brief return before leaving again. However, this could only be explained for the following reasons.
First of all, the brief return was shortly after Kanye West had released his music video for his song ‘Eazy’ in which he depicted himself burying Pete alive. Therefore, this may explain his return especially if he wanted to look at the contents.
Secondly, in any event, it is not out of the realms of possibility for Pete to do this. He has left Instagram before and made a return. Lastly, this could also be seen as an attempt by Pete to show Kanye that he has not been affected by his antics. After all, when Pete had initially left Instagram, Kanye did not hold back on his happiness.
He even went as far as to suggest that he was the one who had made the comedian leave. In a statement of the time, Kanye said: “Ran Skete off the gram. Tell your mother I changed your name for life.” The fans on social media praised Pete for having the patience to deal with what Kanye has been doing.
Some even suggested that if they were in a similar position, they may have been affected by it. One person wrote: “Pete Davidson is a better man than me. I would’ve changed my Instagram name to Skete and been posting mad pics of me and Kim and the kids with the caption “family is everything.”
