    Prince Andrew

Prince Andrew has reportedly been allowed to keep one military title, despite being involved in a recent sexual assault case against Virginia Giuffre.

Andrew, for his part, was initially stripped of his military and charitable titles as a way for the Royal family to distance themselves until an investigation had been concluded.

And now that a settlement has been reached outside of court, it seems that the Royal family may be willing to make concessions.

After all, Andrew has apparently been left distraught in light of his reputation being in tatters. A source said: “He is down, he is broken. If he wants to dress up once in a while in a naval uniform, then let him.

“His reputation is in tatters, his public life is over. He is a walking embarrassment.” If these comments are taken to be true, then they could prove highly unpopular for the following reasons.

First of all, it could inadvertently be seen as an attempt by the Royal family to whitewash any potential wrongdoing that Andrew may have done.

This is particularly since the media coverage towards him has not been as hostile as it was in comparison to when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the Royal family.

Secondly, in any event, further reports indicate that Queen Elizabeth II may have a part to play in funding the settlement that Andrew has been ordered to pay.

Thus, by giving him a title back too, Andrew has been exonerated in the eyes of the Royals. The response on social media towards this move was full of condemnation.

Large numbers of people demanded that Andrew be given the highest possible punishment and should not be allowed to have any form of titles.

One person wrote: “Anybody else would be in prison.” Andrew may have managed to avoid a trial,  but in the court of public opinion, they have not forgotten everything that he had been accused of.

With that being said, it is very hard to see Andrew being accepted back into the public arena any time soon. So what did you think about this?
