Meghan Markle stars in a bizarre new coffee ad for the coffee company Clevr. She is crafting coffee drinks for customers and stacking boxes. In other words, it appears to be the first acting gig she has had since her role as Rachel Zane in “Suits.”
Meghan Markle Gets Some Laughs From Her New Ad
In the ad, she tries to fist-bump someone, and it doesn’t quite work out. Then she walks off camera, and everyone acts like it’s the funniest thing since “Seinfeld.” It’s almost painful to watch.
Meghan Markle has been an investor and holding shares in the coffee brand since 2020. She even made up a special basket for Oprah and sent it to her, and she helped Meghan and the brand by sharing the products online.
Meghan is trying to reinvent herself as more likable and relatable. She plays an intern stacking boxes, which is supposed to detract from her “I’m a victim, poor me” image.
At least the Duchess finally realizes that she and Prince Harry tried to play the victim card, which backfired in their faces. Luckily for Meghan, some people find this side of her endearing.
Brand and culture expert Nick Ede said,
“This fun side of Meghan is a clever way for the brand Clevr to get a lot of social media traction and engagement by using their famous investor. It’s also a way of showing Meghan in a new light that is fun and frivolous. I think that Meghan is now such a polarizing figure that comments on the social media post are negative and not celebratory, which is a shame, as the post was meant to be a showing off the success and hard work of the business.”
Ede thinks this will move Meghan’s image in a more positive direction, but only time will tell. Meghan wants to portray herself as kinder, more compassionate, and down to earth. Good luck.
A Well Thought Out PR Move
He thinks this well-thought-out PR move will help rebuild her reputation and credibility. Meghan knows that if she doesn’t change her attitude and image, she is done in Hollywood and won’t allow that to happen to her. She is determined to make her big comeback.
Meghan Markle is working with PR experts, and they likely instructed her to move past criticizing the royal family and do something that will endear others to her.
If Meghan succeeds in making people believe she is relatable, likable, and down to earth, it could change the trajectory of her brand and maybe open some previously closed doors. And what’s more relatable than coffee? Everyone loves coffee, right?
Meghan is learning. She knows the image she must portray to get herself back on track. The ad shows her being more relaxed and not so uptight and unapproachable. It could definitely fool some people.
Meghan knows she can’t keep claiming that her life is miserable and that the royal family is bullying her if she wants people to be drawn to her.
The ad could signal a more positive direction for Meghan, leading her toward a better outcome. We will have to see the response she gets and whether Meghan’s new persona is believable.
