Olivia Jade took to her Tik Tok account to clap back at the writers of Gossip Girl after they took a jab at her parents, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, in the college admissions scandal. As many fans know by now, Lori and Mossimo landed themselves behind bars when they paid money to scam mastermind William ‘Rick’ Singer to get her and her sister Isabella admitted to the University of Southern California as crew recruits even though they had never previously participated in the sport.

But now that they are home and free with their prison sentences behind theme, Olivia Jade responded to a jab about her follower count that appeared halfway through the first episode of the HBO Max reboot of Gossip Girl.
In the scene, the characters talk about losing, with one noting that losing is “bad for business.”
“Everything will be fine so long as you win. Olivia Jade gained followers when her mom went to jail,” the character quipped, to which Olivia responded on TikTok, “No I didn’t.”
Late last year, Olivia Jade broke her silence on her parents’ prison sentence during a special interview with Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield-Norris on Red Table Talk.
“I felt so ashamed and embarrassed … although I didn’t really 100 percent understand what had just happened because there was a lot that, when I was applying, I was not fully aware of what was going on,” she said at the time. “When I got home [from spring break], I just felt so ashamed.”
The YouTuber added, “A huge part of having privilege is not knowing you have privilege, so when it was happening, it didn’t feel wrong. It didn’t feel like, ‘That’s not fair. A lot of people don’t have that.’ … I was in my own little bubble. Focusing on my comfortable world.”
