Nick Cannon has opened up on how he has been dealing with the recent passing of his five-month-old son Zen.

Nick’s world was turned upside down, when he publicly revealed that his son had passed away as a result of a brain tumour. And given that this was the last thing he was expecting to hear from the doctors, it certainly took its toll.

In order to cope with that, the star continued to work on his talk show despite calls for him to take a break. And yet, it was clear that this was not enough. And so it showed, as Nick stated how he has had to see a therapist to keep him going.

During a segment on his show, Nick said: “I’m taking, as my therapist says, five minutes at a time. I’m optimistic in finding the purpose through all of the pain.

“I’m attempting to smile, I’m attempting to be the high-frequency individual that I’ve set out to be.” But that is not the only thing that has been keeping Nick in an optimistic mood.

The support from his fanbase has been integral, as he admitted to receiving lots of emotional support in the aftermath. Not only that, but Nick has gone on to become more reliant on his faith in God in order to deal with that pain and come out the other side.

This is especially true, since he admitted that he was not sure about whether or not he was going to have further kids. He added: “You pray for miracles.

“Coming from a faith-based background, it is not for the miracle to do something that’s unknown to us but it’s really for the things that we can find comfort in. So I asked for the miracle of strength.”

Nick should be commended for the source of strength that he is showing. He has no obligation to continue with his job and put on a brave face for the public.

But the very fact that he has chosen to do so is an inspiration for all those struggling with the death of a loved one. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
