Tom Brady has revealed that he almost put on shoulder pads again, indicating that he was prepared to return to the football field shortly after declaring his retirement (again) this year.
With an end-of-year Instagram post that included a compilation of pictures of him, his children, and other loved ones in various places throughout 2023—all of which seemed like great time well-spent with family—the retired quarterback and the G.O.A.T. of football made the startling admission.
Brady wrote, “(PS: The only downside to 2023 was when I was about to unretire in May and my friends threw a surprise retirement party. Kind of forced my hand 😂)”

Brady continues, saying that at the end of the day, all that counts is spending as much time as possible with the ones you love. It seems like he’s serious, which if it’s the case, is crazy, especially in light of the fact that he already pretended to have retired the year before before pulling it back and playing one more season.
This appears to further support his allegation that the article indicating that this same thing would occur was “fake news.” It turns out that there was some truth to it, but Tom ultimately made the decision to remain retired permanently.
He’s been preparing hard, by all accounts, for the upcoming season of FOX Sports, which is undoubtedly his big break. Even yet, the guy can’t seem to get away from football; in fact, he’s recently expressed disapproval for the level of play.
