Fans of the Netflix original series, The Umbrella Academy are very happy about the season three premiere coming in June. It seems that a lot has changed since we last saw the Hargreeves family. The June premiere will bring a lot of new characters.
The last time we saw the Hargreeves family, they had all traveled in time to a new academy. The Sparrow Academy is where they land and we are reacquainted with their adopted father and their brother, Ben, but it isn’t Ben.
Netflix: New Cast Members
The cast will include Justin Cornwell, Jake Epstein, Britne Oldford, Genesis Rodrguez, Javon Walton, and Cazzie David. Also in this season, we will see Elliot Page’s character come out as transgender. Viktor Hargreeves is the newest member of the family and it seems as if the writers have matched this up with Elliot’s life as well.
Netflix: The Umbrella Academy Season Three
Elliot came out as transgender in 2020. The rest of the cast will return as well, with Tom Hopper, Robert Sheehan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher, Justin Min, and David Castaneda.
The new superheroes that we will be introduced to attend the Sparrow Academy. This is where we last saw our Hargreeves heroes. There have been a lot of rumors going around about exactly what the show will be about, but Netflix released a press release that gave us more insight. It will basically be about the conflicts between the two academies right after the Hargreeves family tried to stop the apocalypse in 1963 in Dallas, Texas.
The press release reads, “Enter the Sparrow Academy. Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone’s concerns.Navigating challenges, losses, and surprises of their own- and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the universe (something they may have caused)- now all they need to do is convince Dad’s new and possibly better family to help them put right what their arrival made wrong.
Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Or is this new world about the reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?”
The titles of the episodes have all been released and fans think that this could lead to even more clues about what the future hold for the show. The show will return to Netflix on June 22, so get ready to binge!
