For viewers of the Netflix hit show, Squid Game, they were shocked at first to see all of the gore that the Korean survival drama brought. The show grew in popularity and as part of the show, contestants participated in games and those who got through the task, lived another day.

However, those who did not, died. This new reality show definitely puts a new spin on the Squid Game, but in this show, no one will be killed. Let’s find out more.

Netflix Series: Squid Game – The Challenge

The new reality series will have 456 contestants who are competing in challenges together to win $4.56 million. No one will die in these contests and the contestants will be from all over the world.

Netflix just released the newest trailer for the show and the synopsis states, “Though the reality version of Squid Game isn’t a matter of life or death, there’s still a lot on the line. 456 players will compete to win $4.56 million, the largest cash prize in reality television history.”

Netflix Series: Real Life Squid Game Challenge Gets Severe Backlash After Netflilx Announces Premiere

It went on, “Through a series of games, each player will be pushed to their limits and forced to ask themselves just how far they will go to win, with opportunistic alliances, cutthroat strategies and timely betrayals to follow.”

During the trailer, the same doll appears for a game of Red Light, Green Light. There is also a game that looks like the elevated glass bridge game from the original show.

While many fans of the original show are excited, there has been a lot of hate and backlash thrown at Netflix since they announced that the show would premiere on November 22, 2o23. The backlash began with some viewers who felt that this reality version of the show will exploit those who want to play the game.

Not only that, but the original creator of the show, Hwang Dong-hyuk spent years trying to sell this show to Netflix and they finally paid him for it. Rumors are that Netflix exploited him for his amazing creation.

After treating the creator of the show so horribly, critics of the show feel as if this is not a good idea for Netflix, while others are very excited to watch a reality contest like this one.

The cash prize is huge and from the looks of the trailer, this will be filled with action, drama, and tension. Let’s hope that someone walks away with the $4.56 million prize!
