Sometimes it’s just very easy to read between the lines while other times it isn’t. The Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan is being slammed as a “love letter from Meghan to Meghan” as it seems like the internet just isn’t feeling the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s story. Here’s what you need to know.
In the series, Harry said members of his family questioned why Meghan needed more protection from the media than their wives had been given, but he said they failed to grasp the “race element.” The couple also took aim at the British press, with Meghan claiming “salacious stories” were “planted” in the lead-up to their wedding, and the couple saying they were “playing whack-a-mole” as the articles appeared.
Netflix Docuseries Harry and Meghan Slammed As A ‘Love Letter From Meghan To Meghan’
Of course, it didn’t take long for both royal fans and critics alike to weigh in on the matter. Many of them have commented with, “It’s a love letter from Meghan to Meghan. This documentary is literally the SAME rehashed story-who cares about a few new pics? Making the millions they so desperately need is ALL she and Harry care about since THEY can’t live off the Royal family any longer.
The fame celebrity Meghan so obviously and desperately craved and never got when she was -let’s be honest- a C/D list actress,” along with, “I really tried to watch with an open mind. But the show needed to be more than just a Harry and Megan pity party. More than just one more attack on the royal family. More than just a series of lies told to Oprah.”
Another critic wrote, “The real cause of the narc rage in Meghan against the british press and RF especially against Kate is because Meghan was never hounded by the press or paparazzi like Kate or Diana was. Meghan comes across as a delusional egomaniac entitled woman who was trying to compensate for her failure as an actor with injecting some sort of fairy tale and David vs Goliath dimension to her life and love story with Harry.”
Since leaving royal life behind, Harry and Meghan signed lucrative deals, thought to be worth more than $100 million, with Netflix and Spotify after quitting, with the docuseries this week the first major output for them on the streaming giant.
