NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers finds that star Kyle Lowder is in the exact place that he wants to be. The actor, who is best known for his role as Rex Brady on the hit daytime television series, says that it feels great to be back in front of the cameras. Here’s what you need to know.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Kyle said that he didn’t hesitate at all when the producers of ‘Days of Our Lives’ called him and asked if he was interested in coming back to the hit NBC soap. While his character didn’t technically return to Salem (Rex is currently in Paris with Sarah Brady), Kyle says that being on the set of ‘Days of Our Lives’ truly feels like another home away from home.

Recalling the moment he got the phone call from DOOL producers, Kyle told the publication, “I woke up in the afternoon and I looked at my phone and I had, like, 10 missed calls and text messages from my rep starting from, ‘Great news. Call me back,’ all the way to, ‘Are you alive?’ So I just picked up the phone and called him and he said, ‘Dude, you’re going back to DAYS.’ And I’m like, ‘What?’ And keep in mind, and I mean this with all due respect, it’s something that wasn’t anywhere near my radar. I just felt like I had a wonderful year back there playing Rex and then moved on and then I just didn’t think it was one of those things that would ever happen again. It went from a couple of episodes to this whole little story arc, which was really, really cool. It was one of the best phone calls I got in 2019.”
With that said, he also said that should the show need him again in the future, Kyle would come back in a heartbeat. He added, “Absolutely, without a doubt,. And I really mean this. This is not some politically correct business response; this is a very personal response. I’ve said it every time. Even after my unexpected departure last time, it’s just a show that will always be near and dear to my heart. It was the first job I ever had. I was 19 years old and they gave me a shot and believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.”
