Modern Renaissance Man is one of the YouTube accounts we’ve been enjoying lately. This is a bit different in that it doesn’t have one specific focus, like reaction accounts, spiritual reading accounts, makeup, etc. He calls his channel a variety channel, and it really is a little bit of everything. Here’s why we’re obsessed.
About Modern Renaissance Man
First, let’s give you a little bit about what the account does. There are, first and foremost, reaction videos, which is how we were introduced to him. He also speaks about current events, reacts to TV, goes live on YouTube with fans, and does song spoofs.
In the intro to his channel, he calls himself a health intellectual, among other things. He’s also a public speaker, which really shows when you watch his content. Here’s the thing—some of his stuff might be considered controversial, which we love. It’s actually an interesting and needed contrast to most of what you’ll hear in the mainstream. After all, opposing opinions are what makes people think and act. We love that there are so many people on YouTube these days producing their own content and expressing views that challenge beliefs, or make you feel like you’re not alone. So, what’s our favorite? Obviously, we’re here for the reactions.
Modern Renaissance Man reacts
Like we mentioned, reaction videos are a favorite of ours. With each video, he brings some great visual reactions to different moments in some of our favorites. But he also brings a lot of deep perspective. We particularly loved when he complained that we didn’t get to hear Alanis Morrisette more in the performance video of “Uninvited.” He praised the poetic nature of the lyrics, and spoke about his own personal feelings on the song and it’s meaning from a religious perspective. Something we might not have thought of before. But there is something even better that you absolutely must check out.
Modern Renaissance Man meets The Golden Girls
If there is one collection of videos you have to see on this channel, it’s his TV reactions. Particularly the ones about The Golden Girls. He’s apparently never seen this classic ‘80s sitcom about four seniors living together in one house before. He, like other accounts, takes suggestions from viewers.
Because of these suggestions, he went through at least ten collections of the show’s best moments. As longtime fans who have loved this one since childhood, we got a lot of joy out of seeing him get so much joy and entertainment out of meeting these characters. It gave us a whole new perspective to see a new viewer introduced to the show. And we love that he wanted to go out and buy all the DVDs.
