Miley Cyrus had a day to forget after her pilot was forced to make an emergency landing, when she was on her way to Paraguay, following the onset of a lightning strike.

According to reports, Miley was on her South American tour which has seen her tour many countries including Colombia. And it was in Columbia that she had just finished doing her performance when she made her way to Paraguay.
Unfortunately, disaster struck as the weather started to get temperamental. Fortunately for everybody, things turned out fine in the end. But on another day, who knows what could have happened.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, Miley shared a video of some lightning which could be seen outside the plane window. The post was captioned by the following comments: “To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción.
“Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting. My crew , band , friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing…I LOVE YOU.”
Miley is not the only high-profile musician to have recently suffered an incident like this. Just in February of this year, Elton John also suffered problems with his flight after his jet was forced into an emergency landing, as a result of the engine having hydraulic failure.
And this just so happened to occur when the musician was travelling from the UK to the US in order to perform at Madison Square Gardens. Luckily for him, just as in the case with Miley, there were no injuries sustained in the incident.
The response on social media was full of relief. People were just happy to see that Miley had managed to stay safe, given that things could have easily turned out ugly. One person wrote: “Omg that is terrifying. I’m so happy you guys are okay. Geez you really never know when something life changing can happen.”
Hopefully, Miley can put this very difficult incident behind her and get back to what she does best: offering her fans some great music in what has been a highly-anticipated tour. So there you have it folks.
