Preach it, sister. Mila Kunis says that she’s never been more proud in her life to be Ukrainian and we definitely believe it. This comes after a week of Ukrainians showing the world just how brave and courageous they are as they’ve managed to fight off Russian troops following Russian President Vladimir’s decision to invade the country. Here’s what you need to know.
In a video that was shared on her husband Ashton Kutcher’s Instagram post, Mila started out by saying that she was born in Ukraine in 1983 but that she emigrated to the U.S. with her family in 1991.
Mila Kunis Has Never Felt More Proud To Be Ukrainian
“I’ve always considered myself American — a proud American,” she said. “I love everything this country has done for myself and my family. But today I have never been more proud to be Ukrainian.”
Ashton showed support for his wife of almost seven years by saying, “I’ve never been more proud to be married to a Ukrainian.”
The couple also announced that they pledge to match $ million in aid donations for the people of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia announced a temporary cease-fire in 2 cities to allow civilian evacuations while Ukrainian officials say Russian shelling hasn’t stopped.
What’s more, Americans have been urged to leave Russia immediately. “If you plan to stay in Russia, understand the US Embassy has severe limitations on its ability to assist US citizens, and conditions, including transportation options, may change suddenly,” the State Department warned on its website.
The agency also advised its people not to travel to Russia, citing “the potential for harassment against US citizens by Russian government security officials.”
