Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher’s decision to set up a fundraiser for the people of Ukraine has gone down extremely well with reports indicating that more than $20 million has been raised.

The pair got involved as they do have a close connection to the country. Mila was born in Ukraine and the courage that she had shown in speaking out was something that Ashton got behind.

As a result, they urged their fans to donate as much as possible by even promising to match donations to a certain point. And yet, by anyone’s standard, this fundraiser had exceeded all expectations. In a post to their fans on Instagram, the pair shared a video outlining their progress.

Mila is then heard saying the following: “We have raised over $20 million in less than a week. And I say we because it’s all of us together. Some people didn’t have the means to give, and they’ve done an unbelievable job of getting the word out and sharing it. But we’re not done. Our goal is $30m.”

The couple are not the only ones that have done a similar thing. Just recently, former real housewives member Bethenny Frankel also admitted that she had raised somewhere in the region of $25 million.

Therefore, these two initiatives demonstrate that there is an appetite around the world for people to get behind Ukraine and put an end to this conflict as soon as possible. Although this may not be the same as making political decisions, it does demonstrate that people can have an influence at some level.

That is why Ashton continued to urge his followers to continue doing this. He added: “Whether it was the $5, the $10, the $1,000, whatever it was it means so much to us because it does bring in a community and a sense of belonging and an ability to help.

“Let’s keep pushing. Let’s keep spreading the word, and we, together, can hit our goal of $30million.” It is great to see the duo giving back to those that need it, and hopefully they can achieve their target going forward.
