Royal biographer and Sussex puppet Omid Scobie is reaping what he sows as he is feverishly denying allegations that he purposefully had the name of the royal racist printed in the Dutch version of his new book, “Endgame.”
The author claims it is simply a “translation error,” not a desperate ploy to sell more books. The publisher in the Netherlands halted sales of his controversial book.
A Costly “Translation Error”
Omid Scobie has a lot of explaining to do. Sales of “Endgame” in the US have also been put on hold, and the publishers are “awaiting further instructions.”
Omid had sworn he would not reveal the name of the person who allegedly made racist remarks about the color of Harry and Meghan’s baby boy, Archie’s skin.
Meghan had talked about the racist remark in their infamous interview with Oprah in March 2021. Meghan explained during the interview.
“In those months that I was pregnant, there were concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he was born,”
Harry chimed in,
“That conversation I am never going to share. At the time, it was awkward, and I was a bit shocked.”
The Sussexes refused to reveal the name of the royal racist, as Meghan remarked,
“I think it would be very damaging for them.”
Harry, Meghan, and King Charles wanted to keep the person’s name confidential. They did not wish to ruin the person’s reputation over this.
Scobie claims he feared legal ramifications if he printed the person’s name in the book. Libel laws in the UK prevent him from identifying them. A private letter between King Charles and Meghan supposedly contained the accused’s name.
Scobie Claims He Did Not Reveal the Royal Racist On Purpose
A page taken from a copy of the book was given to Dutch journalists with the name of the person in it. Scobie asserts that it was a mistake and was not done intentionally.
Scobie Maintains:
“The book is in several languages, and unfortunately, I do not speak Dutch. But if there are translation errors, I’m sure the Dutch publishers will have it under control.”
But why would the Dutch version contain the name and other versions of the book did not? It is unknown how long the book sales will be on hold.
Royal family fans are adamant that the book be ripped off the shelves. Omid Scobie’s first book was “Finding Freedom,” which he wrote with co-author Carolyn Durand.
“Finding Freedom” chronicled the romance of Harry and Meghan, their wedding, the birth of their first son, Archie, and finally, their decision to leave the royal family.
Scobie insists that he is not a mouthpiece for the Duke and Duchess, but his books seem to lean heavily on the side of their story.
He must get his information from somewhere but claims he doesn’t deal with the Sussexes directly. This little faux pas is either a conniving move on Harry and Meghan’s part, or Scobie set this up to try to sell more books. Either way, “Endgame” is disgraceful and damaging to the royal family.
