Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, is now the royal who is synonymous with the cause. The late Queen Elizabeth II originally suggested that Meghan let Sophie teach her the ropes after the Duchess of Sussex married Prince Harry.
However, Meghan declined to learn even the basics of royal protocol, insisting that she had Harry and that was enough. Accepting Sophie’s help would have been beneficial to Meghan, who squandered every opportunity she was handed as a royal.
When Harry and Meghan left the royal family, she vowed to continue the work she claimed was close to her heart. Harry and Meghan were offered a $ 100-million deal from Netflix to produce documentaries and other content for the streaming platform.
Most of their offerings were docuseries, and their only successful show, “Harry and Meghan,” brutally bashed the royals and started the Sussexes trend of using their titles for commercial gain—a major no-no with the Queen.
Meghan has since launched her disaster of a lifestyle brand, As Ever, to coincide with her poorly reviewed cooking show, “With Love Meghan.”
Meghan Has Seemingly Abandoned Her Principal Cause, While Sophie Has Run Toward It
The woman who claims to have changed the world by writing a letter to Procter & Gamble at the age of eleven, protesting a sexist soap commercial, has since abandoned her cause in favor of happy word salad, flower sprinkles, and jam.
Her account of Procter & Gamble changing the commercial, which she’s recounted in various speeches at least a dozen times, was deemed “questionable” by Vanity Fair fact checkers, who couldn’t find proof that any of it even happened.
Meanwhile, Sophie has made it her mission to truly change the world. In June, she met with victims of sexual abuse in conflict and war at the UK’s first exhibition dedicated to the cause. She gave a moving speech about a visit she made to Kosovo to meet and speak with rape survivors.
Sophie has traveled to countries to strengthen justice, fights for women’s health, and supports countless charities that benefit women, girls, and survivors.
Sophie visits war-torn countries like Ukraine to enact change in these areas, gets her hands dirty, and comforts women impacted by rape and sexual assault. She was the first member of the royal family to visit Ukraine since Putin started the war.
Meghan’s Sole Focus Since Leaving The Royal Family Is To Make Money
The kind of hard-hitting social advocacy work that Sophie does. It is precisely what Meghan should have been doing for the royal family.
Meghan occasionally gives speeches in comfortable rooms and talks the talk, but doesn’t walk the walk. Meghan’s sole focus since leaving the royal family has been to make money.
For Meghan, it’s all about the money. While we all have our strengths, Harry and Meghan have shown zero tolerance for hard work since leaving the UK.
That said, Harry does have the Invictus Games, which is an admirable cause. He provides injured and disabled Military veterans with sports, competition, and a sense of purpose and pride.
When Meghan was a royal, she gave memorable speeches and genuinely campaigned for women’s rights. Her potential has been wasted since she and Harry abandoned their royal roles.
Sophie, who started off her royal career on the wrong foot, had so much to teach Meghan Markle. But Meghan would rather present pretty-looking fruit platters and pretend she’s a domestic goddess.
For all her empty promises and grandstanding about women’s rights, Meghan has proven she simply doesn’t care anymore.
