Meghan Markle has been criticised for the manner in which she introduced her husband Prince Harry during the course of the Invictus Games.

The couple kicked off the ceremony with a passionate kiss in front of the attendees before they had a few words to say to the audience. But Meghan’s introduction of Harry raised a few talking points.
Not only was she speaking very glowingly over her husband, but she also expressed solidarity with the people of Ukraine who were being represented at the games by their respective military personnel.
And yet, that was not the source of controversy. It was the language that was used which was picked up by the public. In her comments, Meghan said: “It is my distinguished honour to introduce someone that I think you all will be very excited to hear from.
“Please welcome my incredible husband, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.” Despite these comments being seemingly innocent, fans criticized it on the following grounds. First of all, Meghan’s words came across as attempting to aggrandise Harry.
After all, he is no longer a part of the Royal family which meant that people did not view it as an ‘honour.’ Secondly, people also picked up on Meghan’s use of Harry’s title. This irked some of the public, given the controversy that has emerged with Meghan using titles herself despite having exited the Royal family.
One person wrote: “Prince Harry will suffice. She’s obsessed with those damn titles,” while another person stated: “Meghan praises Harry during her introduction, and not a word about the wounded veterans.”
In reality, the most important thing is that the games go ahead without any mishaps. And if that does turn out to be the case, then Harry and Meghan should be commended for going out of their way to do that.
