Along with his consideration in running for governor (at this rate, no one can actually blame McConaughey, it looks like anybody can run Texas), McConaughey has now decided that he wants a piece of the youtube pie as well. Considering he already had a good amount of public support due to his prior film career, this is probably a smart move.
At least in terms of getting sheer numbers of people on board to recognize him. I’m not quite sure of McConaughey’s political leanings (though some have said he’s conservative), but I think as long as he stays away from any kind of production that looks remotely Vlog Squad like, he’ll be okay.

McConaughey seems to be using his platform for good, at the moment. He is all about helping Texas get back on their feet after the winter weather disaster that practically destroyed the state. Within the next two weeks, he is goig to be doing a virtual fundraiser for the state, and in the meantime he is going to be uploading a video a day to put out information to get people that need it connected with resources.
He encouraged people helping other people, which is a good thing in times like this, he encouraged people to go and check on their neighbors (although no mention of social distancing or PPE but since the video was two minutes I suppose that can be excused.) and he honestly does seem to be trying to do good things with the platform that he’s been given.
So far, it seems like he has the right idea. He also encouraged people to follow his IG because he’s also going to be uploading there as well. (IG is a lot more informal and can be accessed by a phone, so it’s quicker) he said he had a ton of projects in the works so I guess we’ll have a lot to see from him in the upcoming months.
He said he really wants people to get to know him, so I guess we’ll find out those political leanings soon enough. Right now, my only argument is, I wish he’d rethink that hairstyle he’s got going on. We all know he can look better. Stay tuned!!!
