Lourdes Leon, who happens to be the daughter of musician Madonna, has blasted her mother for exerting too much control over her life.

The news did raise some eyebrows, given that Lourdes has not spoken out against her mother before. But given that she is now a 25-year-old, who is capable of being independent, she felt it was right to tell her fans exactly how she was feeling.
During an interview with Interview Magazine, Lourdes said: “My mom is such a control freak, and she has controlled me my whole life.
“I needed to be completely independent from her as soon as I graduated high school.” One way Lourdes was able to escape the clutches of her mother was to make sure that she made her own way in life.
And so it showed, as she ended up forging a career in modelling without the support of her mother. This allowed Lourdes to pay for her education and not feel indebted to her mother, which would have otherwise happened.
She added: “We don’t get any handouts in my family. Obviously, I grew up with extreme privilege. There’s no denying that.”
But rather than resenting her mother, Lourdes understood the philosophy that her mother was creating. In having this strict environment, Madonna did not want her children to be spoiled and merely rely on their mother as a source of income.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “But I think my mom saw all these other kids of famous people, and she was like, ‘My kids are not going to be like this.
“Also, I feel like if your parents pay for things, then it gives them leverage over you.” Lourdes, for her part, is just beginning her journey.
She has plans on moving away from modelling and trying to earn a living where she does not have to rely on her looks for the rest of her life.
As for that will be, she is choosing to take her time before deciding on where she wants to commit her energy. But one thing for sure is she will not be teaming up with her mother.
