Madonna fans were outraged that the Material Girl singer disrespected her fans during her Celebration tour. Madonna cut her concert in London short, leaving glaring omissions from the setlist.
The audience thought Madonna abruptly shortened the show due to the venue’s curfew, which is 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and no later than 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Queen of Pop Arrived Late
The Queen of Pop came to the party late, and the show went over by a half hour. Despite 30 extra minutes, fans left the show fuming over the missing songs.
The audience was deprived of hearing “Like a Virgin,” “B**tch I’m Madonna, Holiday, and show closer, “Celebration.” Reportedly, other songs were left out of the setlist as well.
It was also odd that she closed the show with Madonna’s hum drum 1992 song, “Rain.” Very anti-climatic choice. Due to that, the concert appeared to be abruptly cut short.
Performers are expected to pay fines when their show runs over; she clearly wasn’t going to do that.
Madonna concertgoers took to social media to comment about Madonna’s lack of respect for her fans.
One person said, “Madonna started late tonight and finished after singing, “Rain.
” I paid a fortune to come to London, stay in a hotel and get tickets. Not good.”
Another person exclaimed,
“I’m sorry, but it’s only the tour’s second show, and she’s cheating the audience out of a full performance by being late. This is unacceptable.”
One fan simply addressed Madonna, saying, “We all know that you’re a rule breaker, so if you run over, break the rules and pay the fine!”
Madonna’s History of Tardiness at the Fan’s Expense
This certainly isn’t the first time Madonna has shown up late to perform at a concert. You could easily make a timeline of her pattern of disregarding her fans by not being timely.
In 2019, Madonna’s Madame X Tour at Miami Beach, she left fans to wait for her for two hours. The show had been set to begin at 8:30 p.m., but she didn’t mount the stage until 10:30 p.m.
Madonna had a class action lawsuit filed against her by one fan who attended the concert and was blindsided by the singer’s extreme tardiness.
When Madonna was performing in Las Vegas, she had been set to be on stage at 10:30 p.m., but she showed up at 12:30 a.m. and said,
“Here’s something that you all need to understand. And that is, a Queen is never late.”
Many fans booed her and demanded a refund.
The pop diva has a bad habit of arriving late to perform at her concerts.
Madonna also appeared an hour late to a gig in Manchester in 2015.
She told her fans that if they were displeased, they should
“shut the f**k up and stay away from her shows in the future.”
Madonna went on to say,
“If you diva b**tches want to keep complaining about it, then don’t come to my show. I’m not back there eating chocolate and filling my nails and getting extensions done, all right?”
Madonna’s pattern of arriving late to her concerts has angered fans, and with good reason. People pay big money to see her; being late is rude and unprofessional.
