During a Brooklyn show, Madonna shared startling information regarding her recent health scare: earlier this year, she was put into a managed coma. The pop icon thanked her friend Shavawn for being there when Madonna passed out on her bathroom floor and making sure she got help right away.
Shavawn was there for the concert, and Madonna individually thanked her for her assistance throughout her vegetative state as well as her Kabbalah teacher. It’s interesting that Madonna claimed to have heard her teacher’s voice during the experience. She expressed her own desire in finding out, while jokingly mentioning the widespread curiosity about what people say to persons who are unconscious.
One of the first things Madonna remembered seeing when she regained consciousness was her six children gathered around her hospital bed. Though she expressed gratitude for their presence, she jokingly observed that it took a life-threatening circumstance to get all of her children together in one place.
Madonna Says She’s Lucky To Be Alive After Being In Induced Coma For TWO DAYS
Madonna has been transparent about her health issue, which involved a nasty bacterial infection that momentarily halted her, during her tour, which resumed in October. She acknowledged that she has not yet totally recovered even though she is back on her feet and in public. The singer’s admission sheds light on the difficult times she went through and the assistance she got while in the hospital.
The Pop Queen was discovered unconscious in her New York City apartment in June, following her “strenuously rehearsing” and “putting in 12-hour days” in preparation for her tour. Madonna claimed that the experience brought to mind her own mother, who passed away in 1963 at the age of thirty. “She was by herself. And I was thinking, ‘What if I left my children?’ That would destroy me to leave my children at this moment in their lives,” Madonna explained. “I wasn’t thinking about me. I was thinking about them, and I was thinking about my mother and how scared she must have been to know that she was going to leave us all behind.”
