Machine Gun Kelly has opened up on how he was hanging out with the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins two days prior to his death.

Taylor, for his part, was found dead in a hotel room in Colombia with authorities suspecting that he may have died as a result of a drug overdose. Subsequently, the Foo Fighters decided to cancel their upcoming tour dates, so that the band could decide where they would go from here.

And given that the news had taken everybody aback, Machine Gun Kelly could not believe what had happened especially since it was unforeseen. The band were supposed to be performing at the Asunciónico music festival, Paraguay. The plan was for them to see Machine Gun Kelly take to the stage too.

However, given that their performances were canceled as a result of a weather storm, the band decided to invite Machine Gun Kelly to hang out with him. And as part of that process, Machine Gun Kelly had a chance to interact with Taylor himself.

In an interview on the ‘Howard Stern Show’ MGK stated how Taylor was very hospitable. He said: “I walked up, and I got out the elevator, all 20 of us, and Taylor, Dave, the whole Foo Fighters team but specially Taylor, he went up to every single one of us and gave us our moment.”

Not only was Taylor very hospitable, but he was also a big fan of Machine Gun Kelly. The latter expanded on how he got to have a personal conversation with the drummer, who by all accounts was looking forward to seeing Machine Gun Kelly get to the stage.

But when that did not happen, Taylor could not hide his disappointment at what could have been. MGK added: “The last thing he said to our drummer was, ‘I’m just so bummed I didn’t get to see you guys play…he made us feel so confident in ourselves and loved.”

Taylor left behind a huge army of fans that will no doubt be missing his presence. But the only way to remember him is for artists and fans to continue supporting great music which he would have wanted. So there you have it folks.
