Musician Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) blasted The Grammys over their failure to have him nominated for an award.

This is the 64th year in which the awards ceremony has been held, and with that, MGK was hoping that he would be recognised for his music that had continued to shine during the pandemic.
So when the news came out that he did not make it into any category, the artist made sure that he let the world know just how angry he was about the whole thing. In a post to his fans on Twitter, MGK said: “Wtf is wrong with the Grammys.”
On reflection, MGK does have a point. His recent album ‘Tickets to My Downfall’ had critically acclaimed success given that it topped the Billboard top 200 charts.
In addition, MGK also ended up being given the award for the Top Rock Artist at the Billboard Music Awards, as well as being picked for the Favourite Rock Artist award at the American Music Awards.
This begs the question, why did MGK not get nominated? Well, it looks as though this could be explained for the following reasons. First of all, during this period that his music gained success, MGK was involved in a lot of controversies.
He ended up reportedly getting into an altercation with UFC fighter Conor McGregor at the MTV Video Music Awards. In addition, MGK had also allegedly punched a fan who had stormed on the stage while he was performing.
Therefore, his public image was tarnished during the period that his album was doing so well. And yet, fans could not understand why he was still not nominated.
They felt that his musical talent should have been put at the forefront and therefore have taken precedence over any personal issues that he might have had.
One person on Twitter wrote: “Trust me. You deserve a Grammy, but the Grammys don’t deserve you.
“You made more than clear how passionate you are and how strong the movement, they have no idea how talented you really are! We love you, man.”
