Lady Gaga has praised Britney Spears for being a symbol of female empowerment following her conservatorship victory.

Britney’s victory has meant that it is possible for people to come forward and speak out against abuse that often occurs within the entertainment industry.
And given that she has had a new lease of life, Britney is making sure that she calls out everyone who had made her suffer during this period. By doing this, she wants to encourage others to follow suit.
That is something that Lady Gaga has been impressed with. In a post to her fans on social media, Lady Gaga said: “The way that she was treated in this business was really wrong.
“The way that women are treated in the music industry is something that I wish would change. I think she will forever be an inspiration to women.”
Those words are particularly true when we examine what Lady Gaga has been through herself. She has previously spoken about how she suffered a breakdown following an incident of sexual assault that led her to be pregnant.
This had allegedly occurred at the hands of a music producer, but rather than coming clean over who it was, the singer decided to stay silent.
This was probably on the grounds that she did not want to revisit that terrible ordeal, in addition to the fact that the person she would have named could have been somebody very powerful in the industry.
At the time of the revelation, she remarked: “I was 19 years old, and I was working in the business, and a producer said to me, ‘Take your clothes off. I said no, and I left, and they told me they were going to burn all of my music.
“And they didn’t stop…I just froze, and I… I don’t even remember.” With that in mind, Britney thanked Lady Gaga for her support especially given what she had been through herself.
In reply, Britney wrote: “Thank you @ladygaga for genuinely taking your time to say something so kind. You made me cry !!! I love you !!!”
