Your Friday, June 7th La Reina del Sur spoilers tease a new partnership, political blackmail, and an assassination. If you missed the action, let’s get to the highlight in today’s La Reina del Sur recap.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Cheers

Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo) may have made some major headway with Zurdo Villa (Flavio Medina), but she’s still got a little work to do. As Oleg Yasikov (Antonio Gil) and Ray Dávila (Alejandro Speitzer) watch, Teresa keeps negotiating with her prey. After throwing in Russia, Morroco, and more (as well as agreeing to cover any seized merch), Teresa manages to cut a 50/50 deal with Zurdo that officially begins their partnership. She wants to set up a trip immediately so he can see what she’s capable of.

After excusing herself a moment, she goes back to the control room and discusses things with Oleg and Ray. She isn’t interested in selling, but if Zurdo wants her back in the business, she’s all-in for making as impressive a shipping operation as possible. Her plan is to dazzle him enough so she can earn his trust, then get him talking. The more info she gets, the easier it will be to dismantle his organization.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Finding Sofia

After failing to find Sofia Dantes (Isabella Sierra), who’s still stuck in that hole, Francesco Belmondo (Raoul Bova) and César “Batman” Güemes (Alejandro Calva) take a new tactic. They use the drone to scan both the Island and the waters surrounding it. Eventually, Francesco spots an area that warrants further investigation. He brings the drone in closer, finding Sofia stuck in the hole. He rushes to her rescue, relieved to find she’s alive. He brings her back to the house, promising to fix her injured arm while barking orders at Batman.

Meanwhile, Sofia’s bottle is getting around. A couple making out on a dock come across it in the evening, while Sofia is definitely still trapped. They end up throwing the bottle back.

The next morning, a little girl finds it and is forced to toss it back in the water by her mother. Convinced this is something important, the girl manages to sneak it out again and reads the message inside, which disappointingly doesn’t give an indication of where she is. The girl asks her mother what she should do if a friend were kidnapped and needed help. The mother thinks she shouldn’t think about such things, as this is why she’s got bodyguards, but that you should also help people in need. The kid doesn’t tell her mother about the message, but she does cast a glance at her mother’s phone…

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Chantaje

The spying from the other day comes back to bite Alejandro Alcalá (Mark Tacher). Danilo Márquez’s (Emmanuel Orenday) cousin, Edgar, approaches Alejandro after having pretended to want a job on the campaign. Edgar had plans to share the evidence of Alejandro and Danilo’s relationship on Facebook to get lots of likes, but realized that keeping it secret might be more profitable. He and Alejandro arrange to meet later to exchange the phone for money.

Later, Danilo is confused when his cousin suddenly refuses a job there after all the trouble Danilo went through to get him hired. Edgar’s just left when Danilo gets a call from his man warning him not to have any family work there. He thinks it will be a distraction, and look like nepotism.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Farewell

We said goodbye to another character tonight, as Willy Rangel (Christian Tappan) meets his maker. He’d asked Teresa to meet him, promising important information. Teresa eventually agrees to meet him at her former house, the one Zurdo gifted back to her.

Willy is a bit taken aback at being there again, and Teresa is still wondering what on earth he couldn’t tell her over the phone. He tells her about the murder of Padre Anselmo Garrido (Hugo Gómez), as well as his suspicions about its connection to Epifanio Vargas (Humberto Zurita), and that he believes someone is after her. Before he can say more, he’s shot in the head and falls into Teresa’s old pool.

Teresa chases the shooter (who is actually Manuela, played by Paola Núñez.) Manuela is the “Kira” that was mentioned previously, and was sent there by Erik Sheldon (Eric Roberts). Teresa isn’t able to catch up to her and find out who it was, as Manuela manages to knock a guy off his bike and take off with it.

She’s a recent Days of Our Lives convert, having grown up on the nighttime shows of the '90s. She’s also an accomplished writer in many fields, including paranormal fiction. Jamie loves the crazy twists that Soap Opera writers come up with, even though she's sometimes yelling at the characters. As a published and accomplished writer, she knows how to get into the minds of the writers and is usually bang on in predicting plot twists before they come to life. When she’s not writing for Daily Soap Dish, Jamie binge watches telenovelas as a way to improve her Spanish. They also fuel her muse, which tends to upset her readers.
