La Reina Del Sur 2 Recap for 5/8/2019 Season 2, Episode 12 “La Videollamada” (The videocall) has us questioning a certain kidnapper’s sanity, introduce us to Gypsy law, and reveals a new complication in the Queen’s life. If you missed all the La Reina del Sur spoilers, catch up on the need-to-know details in your La Reina del Sur recap.

La Reina Del Sur 2 Recap 5/8/2019: Season 2, Episode 12 “La Videollamada” (The videocall)

Our Queen-in-Training, Sofia Dantes (Isabella Sierra) has managed to pull a stunt that could have some consequences for one of her kidnappers. Sofia and César “Batman” Güemes (Alejandro Calva) were bonding today over her painting. It reminds him of one of his children, who was also an artist. Sofia is curious and asks a bunch of questions. She’s sad to learn those children (Antonio and Miguel) were killed by a “Blonde Demon”, as he called the murderer. This makes Sofia wonder who her blonde demon will be, and eventually convinces Batman to let her call her mother one last time. He goes along, and now we’re not sure if he’s just crafty or completely stupid.

Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo) is thrilled to get a call from Sofia and tries hard to get information out of her (names, number of kidnappers, etc), but Batman keeps shaking his head at Sofia, so she tells Teresa she’s not allowed to say. She does, however, manage to show off the mural that now includes Batman’s son’s names, as well as Lupe (aka: Francesco Belmondo, played by Raoul Bova). Teresa writes down all the information while going on about how beautiful the mural is and how talented Sofia is. Then, Teresa makes one last effort to get info by asking who’s letting her call. Batman actually turns the camera on himself and gives his name, then tells Teresa it’s been a long time. Seriously? Again, either this dude is beyond idiotic, or he has some agenda going on. He says he was feeling generous enough to let Sofia call and assures her that Sofia is being well-cared for. Sofia is upset she was lied to about him not knowing her mother.

While the call is finishing up, Morgana (Norma Angélica) can be seen looking down into the cellar. You just know she’s going to use this to her advantage soon. She’s been on thin ice too long.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Too good to be true?

Still in Ukraine, Teresa and Oleg Yasikov (Antonio Gil) have been talking. He’s a bit uneasy about this Francesco that’s going to give them a ride out of the country, and asks some questions. He wonders how this guy always seems to show up when Teresa is in need, and asks nothing in return. He points out that when something seems too good to be true, it usually is. He gets Francesco’s full name from Teresa, then contacts a hacker buddy to see what the web has to say about Teresa’s so-called friend. He assures her they’ll have answers within a couple of hours.

La Reina del Sur 2 spoilers: Gypsy law

Rocío and Paloma Aljarafe (Sara Vidorreta and Agata Herranz) are still on the run after the incident with Juan (Pol Monen), and hiding in a hostel. They’re unsure of what their next move is, but they know they can’t go back home. Rocío decides to call Teresa to ask for help. Teresa promises they’re going to be in Spain soon, and she’ll come get Rocío and Paloma. They just need to stay where they are.

Meanwhile, Cayetana Segovia (Luisa Gavasa) is wondering why Rocío never returned home when she’s informed that there’s a band of gypsies outside trying to get in. Cayetana grabs a rifle and goes to check the situation out. Triana (Aroha Hafez) is there, along with the others and demands vengeance for her son’s murder. Cayetana doesn’t seem to know what to make of their accusations, so she tells them the girls aren’t even here and she wants them to get out. The group won’t be deterred that easy.

There’s a thing called gypsy law, which was supposedly bestowed on them after a gypsy boy stole a golden nail that was to be used in the crucifixion. He did so to spare Jesus more suffering. Triana will not rest until she gets what she wants, but they aren’t willing to stick around to talk to the cops so Cayetana is left in peace for now.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Kira

Finally, we spent a little time back in Estados Unidos with Willy Rangel (Christian Tappan) and Jonathon Peres (Tiago Correa). Jonathon got a call that led him to search “Kira” in their databases, but he’s not finding anything. They’re not sure what it is, but they believe it’s connected with Manuela (Paola Núñez)
