The Kardashians are still on the defense as critics are slamming Kim Kardashian over a $1 million dollar birthday party that she threw for herself and her closest family and friends, despite the fact that a global pandemic and sharp economic downturn are both going on.
Many critics have slammed the reality television star for not only having a lavish party on a private island, but also spending a reported $1 million to ring in her 40th birthday. Here’s what you need to know.
E! Keeping Up With The Kardashian Spoilers: La La Anthony Defends Kim Kardashian As Private Island Birthday Party Backlash Continues
La La Anthony, one of Kim’s closest friends who attended the lavish getaway, recently defended the mother-of-four by telling Entertainment Tonight, “I just know we live in a world where people are gonna have something to say about everything.”
“I know what we’re all doing individually when it comes to charities, when it comes to using our platforms, when it comes to voting, when it comes to prison reform, when it come to the millions of things that we’re doing,” the 39-year-old TV personality continued. “We try to just help the world in general, and that’s what matters to me. It’s not just about going on an island and taking a beautiful picture. I mean, there’s a lot more to what all of us do in our day-to-day lives than that. That’s what matters. I’d rather amplify that side of what we’re doing.”
What’s more, La La says that she doesn’t regret going on the trip at all, calling it a “great experience.” She also added that she was “so appreciative” to be included, especially as the country is dealing with a huge pandemic.
“…it’s nice to just take that little break from the chaos and be able to step away and just genuinely have a good time,” she explained.
