A lot of fans are coming down harshly on Kourtney Kardashian, saying that she was the reason that Keeping Up with the Kardashians ended, due to a comment she made on the last episode on Thursday, the one where they were bidding adieu to the crew that has filmed their antics over the last 14 years.
Kourtney said that the family had all agreed before this started that they would do it as long as they all wanted to do it as a family and for Kourtney, it just wasn’t a thing anymore. Of course, one of them had to pipe up and say, “Kourtney thought it should have ended 3 years ago.”

Of course that comment and how snarky it came out, was all that was needed to start the fandom’s tongues wagging. They seem to think that just because Kourtney wanted to stop filming that the entire family wanted to stop.
I think if this had been the case she would have probably stopped filming a few years ago when Scott Disick was doing everything he could to show off the power of infidelity, but she stuck by the show and didn’t stop, even when her life was being publicly examined and scrutinized by both fans and critics alike. So it’s a little unfair to say that Kourtney was the reason that they stopped filming entirely.
However she has come out in the past and said that her top priority is not “working” (Kardashians work? Since when?) and that she would ultimately stay at home and have a quiet life. She did say that every time the contract ended, there were family-wide discussions about if they wanted to continue doing it, and up until last year, they all still wanted to.
Kourtney said that if everyone else had wanted to keep doing it, she would have been right on-board, but I guess it just took a few of her sisters feeling the same way for there to be that final nail in the KUWTK ‘koffin’. Ahem.
Scott Disick expressed his reservations about not doing the show anymore because he was afraid that the entire family would ‘float apart’ and they wouldn’t see each other as often when not filming. However, considering he just recently professed his love to Kourtney, it may just be her that he’s worried about not seeing as often.
All opinions aside though, it mystifies me as to why the fandom is having a fit – the Kardashians signed a deal with Hulu for a brand new show which I’m sure they’ll start filming soon. So you won’t be without your KUWTK fix for very long, it’ll just probably be re-branded. Stay tuned!!!
