According to Page Six, one source close to the situation put it this way, “Stripping their title is not something the king would likely ever consider … mostly because it would be too petty and punitive. It would only lead to the Sussexes claiming that it was a retaliatory action and proof they were never wanted in the royal family.”

Should Charles trip Harry and Meghan from their titles, that means the Duchess of Sussex would instead be called Princess Henry. That’s because only princesses born into the royal family are allowed to use their given names. A woman who marries into a princess title, such as Princess Michael of Kent, takes her husband’s name.
The tipster added, “Given that the Sussexes called the show simply ‘Harry & Meghan,’ they should take it upon themselves to stop using their titles. They’re sending mixed messages otherwise. Do they want to be normal, albeit extremely powerful people — or do they want to live in the shadows of their former royal lives?”
Harry and Meghan, which according to figures cited by the BBC, drew 2.4 million TV viewers in Britain for the first episode on the day it was released, prompted some to criticize the couple because they have previously complained vigorously about press intrusion. However, a statement issued by the couple’s press secretary rejected this line of criticism.
“The Duke and Duchess have never cited privacy as the reason for stepping back. This distorted narrative was intended to trap the couple into silence,” the statement said, according to a report by the BBC. “They are choosing to share their story, on their terms, and yet the tabloid media has created an entirely untrue narrative that permeates press coverage and public opinion.”
