The upcoming coronation of King Charles III will mark a momentous occasion as it has been nearly seven decades since the world has witnessed such a significant event.

King Charles III’s Coronation-Here’s What The Royals Will Do

On May 6th, 2023, he will receive his official coronation at Westminster Abbey. As of now, the final arrangements and preparations are currently underway.

In addition to the monarch, other members of the Royal Family will also have important roles to fulfill during the Coronation ceremony and the subsequent procession.

Despite the fact that Buckingham Palace has not yet officially announced the specific responsibilities for each member of the Royal Family, there have been several speculations about what their roles might entail.

During the Coronation ceremony, both King Charles and his wife Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned together.

Camilla will undergo the same ritual as her husband and will ultimately wear Queen Mary’s Crown during the momentous occasion on May 6th.

According to a report by The Sunday Times, Camilla has requested her grandchildren to hold a canopy over her while she receives a holy oil anointment during a specific segment of the ceremony.

The Coronation is expected to involve a significant participation from Prince William, the oldest son of Charles.

As per reports, he might be the sole person to perform a crucial custom that is typically reserved for royal dukes.

The Sunday Times states that he will show respect to his father, the King, during the event by kneeling down, making a pledge of loyalty to Charles, and also touching the crown and kissing the right cheek of the monarch.

As per the rehearsal papers for the Coronation event, which was reviewed by The Times, Kate is scheduled to participate in the procession alongside other working members of the royal family, and will also be present on the balcony with her spouse.

With that being said, there is plenty to look forward to. Royal expert Dr Tessa Dunlop had this to say: “Like it or not this state occasion is all about royal hierarchy.

“Visual messaging through both costume and carriage will remind us who the future King and Queen are (whether the Sussexes like it or not!)”

Time will tell how this will all play out, but based on what we have seen so far, the firm has plenty to plan.
