Based on a statement by royal expert Richard Eden, it has been suggested that King Charles III is seeking to prevent Archie, from receiving the Duke of Sussex title from his father Prince Harry.
King Charles III May Prevent Archie From Getting The Duke Of Sussex Title-‘I Have Heard It Said,’ Says Richard Eden
In the beginning of this month, it was officially announced that Archie had been given the title of prince.
The title of the young royal was modified on the Royal Family’s official website to reflect Prince Archie of Sussex.
This update came after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made an official statement confirming their daughter’s christening and referring to her as Princess Lilibet.
Charles, though, is reportedly planning to prevent Archie from receiving the Duke of Sussex title, according to Eden.
To achieve this, the King may follow a precedent he established. This involved making his brother, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, but with the proviso that the title would revert to the monarch after Edward’s death, rather than being passed down to his son.
In his comments, Eden said: “I have heard it said that part of the reason is that the King wants to stop Archie from inheriting that title of the Duke of Sussex.
“So this might be part of that, so he has now set that precedent.” In formal situations, Archie and Lilibet will be referred to as prince and princess, respectively, but on a daily basis, their titles will not be used.
Harry is currently fifth in line to the throne, and his kids, Archie and Lilibet, are sixth and seventh in the line of succession for the Royal Family.
And as the Sussexes continue to use their own titles overseas, there is a feeling that they would want this same entitlement for their children moving forward.
While that may be the case, the social media sentiment was far from sympathetic. Large numbers of people made it clear that the couple had left the firm.
Therefore, this included not having any benefits for their kids too. One person wrote: “Easy. Remove it from Harry, then the line can’t continue.
“He should not be in line to the throne at all and neither should his children. They do not want to be part of the Royal Family.
“So the last thing we need is him being in line to be King. King Charles needs to be strong.”
