Kelly Osbourne has given her thoughts on the current cancel culture that has been plaguing the entertainment industry.

Kelly Osbourne: ‘I Don’t Give A F—k About Cancel Culture’

The star is all too aware of the ramifications, which can occur due to any slip-ups. This was most notable when her mother, Sharon Osbourne, was no longer welcome on The Talk as one of the show’s hosts. Although Sharon would go on to be called a racist, much to the horror of those who know her best, Kelly has not let it affect how she views the world.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Kelly said: “I keep trying to get people to change the way they think about this in the sense of, don’t be afraid to make a mistake because we all are so privileged and it’s an honour. We’re a part of the right side of history.” And Kelly certainly lives up to those words, as typified by her own life.

She also made a huge blunder when she made an appearance on The Talk. In 2015, she was called out for making a racially insensitive remark. In response to Donald Trump’s immigration policy, Kelley was quoted as saying: “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?”

Kelly immediately got herself into hot bother, with people beginning to question how she could denigrate a subset of society that has contributed so much to the American economy. While she would apologise, this slip up did not put her off from speaking her mind. And that is how she continues to view things today. She added: “That’s why, like, I don’t give a f—k about cancel culture.

“Like, if you think I’m a racist, fine. You think I’m a racist. I know who I am.” Clearly, Kelly and Sharon are very similar characters. Even though it is good to wear your heart on your sleeve, it is probably wise to behave more prudently given the time we live in. With an increasing number of celebrities facing dismissal for expressing opinions, it is ultimately a case of how strong do you believe in your views.
