Kate Middleton breaks tradition again and snaps a photo of Princess Charlotte on her 9th birthday. Kensington Palace usually releases portraits of Kate and Prince William’s children early in the morning to celebrate their birthdays.
Charlotte Bears A Striking Resemblance To Her Mother
However, the picture was released early in the afternoon instead of midnight, as with new royal portraits. The new protocol comes from the Wales’s desire to maintain their privacy at this time.
Royal fans can’t help but notice Charlotte’s resemblance to her mother. The family compared old pictures of Princess Catherine to the new photo of Charlotte, and the similarities are remarkable.
However, Charlotte is unique in her own right. While her mother is known for her long chestnut brown locks, Charlotte looked beautiful in the picture, with her long waves of blond hair and grin from ear to ear.
The interesting thing is that Kate’s hair was also blond when she was a child. Charlotte is the spitting image of Kate Middleton when she was her age.
In addition to looking like Kate, Charlotte has some of her father’s fine features: eyes, nose, and facial expressions.
The proud mom and eager amateur photographer took the photo of Charlotte as she leaned against a garden fence with pretty little pink flowers adorned on the lush green bushes. “Thank you for all the kind messages today,” was the picture’s caption.
Charlotte’s birthday picture was a lovely tribute to Queen Elizabeth, as she loved flowers and was a devoted patron of the Royal Horticultural Society.
Upon closer inspection, the mauve-pink flowers in the photo are Clematis Elizabeth. It is a flowering plant that was one of the first named after Queen Elizabeth.
Charlotte’s Special Connection With Her Great-Grandmother, Queen Elizabeth
The plant attracts butterflies flowers from late spring to early summer, and the flowers have a charming, soft fragrance that pleasantly lingers in the air.
The flowers contain four petals with an intense color at first but fade in the center as they grow. They looked exquisite next to Princess Charlotte.
This stunning new image was taken just a little over a week after Prince Louis’s birthday photo, as he turned six on April 23rd.
Charlotte shares a special connection with her late great-grandmother, as her middle name is Elizabeth. Her full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, of course, referring to the late Princess Diana.
It is a good sign that Kate feels well enough to take these birthday photos, as the Princess of Wales has long dabbled in photography.
Before Kate announced her cancer diagnosis on March 22nd, she shared a Mother’s Day photo of herself with her children, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis.
Shortly after the family photo was released, the Associated Press issued kill notices due to concerns that the picture had been doctored.
The notice from the Associated Press said, “At closer inspection, it appears that the source has manipulated the image.”
Kate Middleton received a lot of unnecessary criticism for the edited photo. She was forced to make a statement apologizing for the picture, which is ridiculous.
Today, however, was a positive one for the Wales family, as happy birthday wishes poured in from all over the world for Charlotte.
