Kanye West may have raised eyebrows when he decided to meet former United States President Donald Trump, but now it looks as though he wants to do the same with none other than Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The rapper was subjected to huge condemnation when he decided to wear the infamous red ‘Make America Great Again’ caps while he was pictured at the White House with Donald.
And yet, that does not seem to have put him off the fact that he would want to meet a leader that has been criticised for election corruption, as well as dictatorial methods.
This begs the question, why would Kanye want to do this? Well, it could only be explained for one of two reasons. First of all, such a move would generate huge publicity that would only go on to increase his brand in one of the biggest countries in the world.
Secondly, given that Russia is known for its rich traditional Christian history, Kanye’s insistence on following Jesus is something that would potentially fit in well there. And sources confirm that the latter is something he is looking to do.
A source told TMZ the following: “Ye is gunning for a meeting with the Russian President, and also wants to do a series of Sunday Service shows in the man’s country fairly soon — sometime in the spring or summer, in fact.”
And yet, such a move could lead to huge criticism. It is no secret that Russia and Ukraine are currently experiencing a lot of tension which has resulted in the United States coming out by stating that they would back Ukraine in any attack that was launched.
Thus, by being an American citizen, Kanye would place himself in a difficult situation if he was flirting with the idea of working with Russia. That will not stop Kanye from doing what he wants, though.
The source added: “This is Ye, Ye is going to get there regardless. What are they going to say?” Time will tell if Kanye does end up going ahead with this, and if he manages to pull it off, then he will have added another milestone into his life.
